Vocational High Schools Examination System

Basic Information

In the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of Vocational High Schools. a course program of thirty-five (35) hours in total per week is implemented.
In the first grade, students attend a unified program, with courses in general education, orientation and specialties, in order to be able to discover their interests and explore their educational and professional choices. In the 2nd grade, students choose one of the 9 fields of study and are taught 12 hours of general education courses and 23 hours of theoretical and laboratory courses. In the third grade, students choose one of the 36 specialties from the field of study they chose in the second grade and are taught 12 hours of general education courses and 23 hours of theoretical and laboratory courses.
To the graduates of Vocational High Schools. is granted: a High School diploma equivalent to the General High School and a professional degree of specialty, level 4 (equivalent to the European ones).

The graduates of Vocational High Schools, for their admission to Higher Education are examined nationwide in 4 courses (Modern Greek, Mathematics and two specialty courses).
