Modern Greek language
The course of Modern Greek Language has many aspects. On the one hand it is the lesson that teaches linguistic literacy and syntactic phenomena and on the other hand it teaches the student how to present his ideas and views with correctness and well-structured speech. Modern Greek language is one of the most important subjects taught in second school, since on the one hand it is a common subject in all directions and examined nationwide and on the other hand it teaches how to use the language correctly and to think correctly.
Course goals
- To respond effectively to the full range of communicative and social circumstances
- To interpret and evaluate texts of general content that refer to modern reality
- To structure their speech with arguments and to justify their views
Literature
Through the teaching of literature, students will come into free and creative contact with Greek and foreign literary works, so that through their interpretation, they can feel the aesthetic pleasure. Literature will help them to understand the expressive ways in which writers represent the relationship between man and the natural and man-made environment and will give them a complete picture of the inspiration of writing and writing creation.
The class of literature, as the word says, is an art of speech˙ and as an art of speech, it must be free, independent and personal. Free, because the creator can express whatever theme he wants with whatever meaning he wants. Independent, because it does not need to obey rules, only inspiration is enough. Finally, personal because the style and language of each writer are unique elements that characterize and follow him in his later course. It is these three characteristics that try to pass the literature lesson to the students, to build a free, independent and completely personal spirit.
Course goals
- Compare the textual types and techniques used, examine ideological positions and conceptual references
- Relate texts to each other by making intertextual approaches
- Understand the vocabulary, style, language and expressive ways of each creator
