Ancient Greek is the language in which the texts of our ancient cultural heritage are written. As a lesson in the classroom, it tries to teach the life of the ancient Greek culture in the various aspects of everyday life as well as great works by leading authors. The dialectical relationship between student and lesson is the goal, and to achieve this, the lesson must be presented appropriately and in a well-structured way.
If the lesson begins to be taught methodically from the beginning of its teaching in the first grade of high school, without creating gaps that can be transferred from class to class, the ancients can become an educational lesson with words like "freedom", "democracy", "Ethics" and "law" to function as invaluable values of human life. The course is taught through the systematic study of texts from translation, which come mainly from two literary genres, the epic and the tragedy, and secondarily from the historiography and the philosophical discourse, while at the same time the morphology of the ancient Greek language is approached through analysis of texts from the original. .
The lesson of the ancient Greeks of the orientation group of the humanities studies of the high school is taught the rhetoric through the works of its great representatives, such as Lysias, Demosthenes and Isocrates. The student learns to handle the text at the level of vocabulary and translation but also at the level of grammatical and syntactic phenomena. The student becomes familiar with both the taught and the unlearned text. The appropriate methodology and elaboration of the text and the study of grammatical-syntactic phenomena lead to the completion of the teaching process.
