The levels of the Certificate of Greek Proficiency fully correspond to the levels described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, so the levels are as follows:

- A2 - Basic Knowledge
- B1 - Moderate Knowledge
- B2 - Good Knowledge
- C1 - Very Good Knowledge
- C2 - Excellent Knowledge
Teaching Objectives By Level
C2 - Excellent Knowledge
Level C2 corresponds to integrated knowledge and is the highest examination goal of Greek proficiency certification and is equivalent to C2 of the level scale of the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe. This level is very high and can be characterized by immediacy and clarity of speech.
Natural speech is very difficult to master through learning a language, since the mother tongue comes from within us, but with the completion of this level the user has the best possible understanding and production of speech.
In understanding spoken language the candidate can understand any audio passage with difficult words and continuous speech.
In the understanding of written language, all types of text can be read, scientific or non-scientific, and the specific characteristics of the text, the style and point of view of the copywriter, as well as the details can be understood.
In the production of written speech the writing of any kind of text is not a problem, vocabulary and grammar are sufficient and the process is easy. In the production of oral speech the candidate can participate in any discussion, speak giving colors to his voice and presenting his feelings. Although the Greek language is an inexhaustible source of knowledge even for its native speakers, the C2 level user can be considered a very high level speaker.
Certification of Proficiency in Greek
In the USA, the Greek language certificate at KEG is directly related to the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is a type of award given by an Education District, a State, and sometimes a school to U.S. public high school students who have achieved a high level of proficiency in one or more languages, in addition to English, upon graduation. It is usually printed in the form of a stamp on the diploma and as a special note on the detailed grade form, which indicates that the student has acquired communication skills in a foreign language.
For admission to public Colleges and Universities but also for the employer looking for staff, the Seal of Biliteracy is a proof of the candidate's language skills and gives him a significant advantage in the academic and professional field, compared to his fellow candidates. Please note that in the USA, because of course each State has its own Board Of Education, the advantages of the Stamp may differ from one State to another.
Greek Proficiency Certification has been included in the Seal of Biliteracy program in the following States
- In the State of Illinois
- In the State of Maryland
- In the State of California

- In the State of Ohio
- In the State of N. Jersey
